Dorset Cereals Chunky Slices are made from award-winning recipies: a luxurious blend of grains, fruits, nuts, and seeds, held together with agave nectar. They make a delicious and nutritious snack, and are great for lunchboxes, picnics, and travelling.

Dorset Cereals Chunky Slices use the same deliciously tasty flakes, fruit, nuts, and seeds that are in the cereals, mixed with some ground hazelnuts, a bit more fruit, and agave nectar, before gently baking them all together.

The three recipes are high in wholegrain and fibre, low in fat and sodium, and don't have added preservatives or salt. They come in a bag containing three individually-wrapped 50gm slices.

Cranberry And Almond contains juicy cranberries, flaked almonds, and chopped sultanas, blended with toasted and malted spelt and oat flakes, ground hazelnuts, apple puree, and agave nectar. The fruit and nut content is about 45%.

Date And Pecan contains crunchy pecans and hazelnuts, blended with toasted and malted spelt and oat flakes, dates, and agave nectar. The fruit and nut content is about 55%.

Pistachio And Pumpkin contains pistachios, pumpkin seeds, and sunflower seeds, blended with toasted malted spelt & oat flakes, sultanas, dates, ground hazelnuts, and agave nectar. The fruit and nut content is about 55%.

Dorset Cereals has won several awards, including a Gold Great Taste Award for the Berries And Cherries recipe and two Silver Great Taste Awards for Fruit, Nuts, and Seeds and the Really Nutty Muesli.

They won the International Trade category of The Queen’s Award for Enterprise in 2006, six Taste Of The West Gold Awards, including best packaging, and a Natural And Organic Award for best packaging design.

The recipies are generously rich in grains, fruits, and nuts, and include some of the following: barley, oats, spelt, wheat, agave, apricots, bananas, blackcurrants, blueberries, cherries, coconuts, cranberries, dates, flame raisins, pineapples, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, almonds, brazils, cashews, dates, and hazelnuts.

Spelt has a fragile gluten structure that's more water soluble than modern wheat, making it easier to digest: so it's ideal for anyone on a low-wheat diet.
Spelt grains have an extra strong shell which helps retain nutrients. It's a slow-energy-release food, high in fibre, iron, and B vitamins, favoured by nutritionists. It's not grown a lot because the yields are lower and the tough shell is more difficult to work with than modern wheat varieties.

Agave nectar is a light, natural way to hold all the flakes, fruit, nuts, and seeds together. It's the pure filtered juice from the Blue Weber agave cactus that grows on hillsides in Mexico.

The Chunky Slices are packed in a protective atmosphere. The boxes are made from recycled board and, unlike many cereal boxes, don't fall over on the table or in the cupboard. Please dispose of the empty packaging responsibly.

The mixed cereals contain barley, oats, spelt, and wheat: and gluten. Most recipies include nuts and seeds: others may contain traces. All the recipes have been certified by the Vegetarian Society.
